A lot of the time you can check out the perma banned member thread in off topics section for the reason, or take a look at the poster's last few posts. Sometimes reading their posts you can have a good laugh watching as the guy got himself banned.

I find that list to be way out of date though. I can't satisfy my craving for being nosy with old information!

And the "last" post usually gets deleted because of the offensive content, so we have to infer the reason as well as the length of ban.

Makes for wild speculation and rumours - for those who actually engage in that kind of thing.
