Raveneye Peep Sight for the SKS

Our latest offering for the SKS is this sweet peep sight that looks just like it rolled off the assembly line with the rifle.

Made of steel and easy to install. Complete instructions supplied.

Great idea. Very simple and long overdue.

Does it come with different aperture sizes? If not what is the size of the aperture.

    .125" or 1/8"

Front sight is easy to pick up at any elevation.

    Thank you

No problem ... installation is pretty easy, especially if the rear sight has been removed in favour of a rail some time before.

I have a few cell phone pics of some of the installation if folks feel that would be useful.
I was going to wait for some professional pics as I figured the installation was dead easy, but if people feel differently just let me know.

    SKS Peep Sight

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
    Tools needed:
Screwdrivers, slotted and Robertson; rubber mallet; pliers/vice grips; some kind of tool to hold your rifle or bring a friend.

    1. Remove rear sight
The rear sight sits in a track. Occasionally they have a pin running through them which must be removed first.
Use a screwdriver to push the rear sight down against the force of the spring located beneath it.
Pull sight to the rear using the pliers/vice grips.
Remove the rear sight but leave the spring in place.

    2. Remove the slider hardware from the original rear sight.
Be careful not to let it fall apart as there are springs and small parts within. Maintain a slight pressure on the side tabs of the slider and slide it over the peep sight.

    3. Install the peep sight assembly.
Depress the forward end of the sight spring with the Robertson screwdriver. Place the peep sight on the sight base making sure it is aligned properly. Maintain steady pressure on the spring while tapping the back of the peep sight with the mallet. Once the sight contacts the screwdriver, remove the screwdriver and tap the sight home with the mallet.

You are done. The sight may be adjusted for elevation by squeezing the slider and releasing when the desired elevation is reached, just like the original SKS sight. The front sight can also be adjusted if necessary.

Nice work! It reminds me of the old Raush Tactical for the VZ 58's

If these are a hit we plan to make more for other rifles with a similar sight arrangement, including the VZ58.

pressure on the sight spring illustrates the route the sight leaf must navigate to get to its final destination
