True, but if you're reloading a new bullet/powder combo and you look up the data in a reloading manual, do you start with the starting loads or maximum loads? You start (or should) with the, errrmm, starting loads.
This powder being similar but not canister grade powder will have some variance from the manuals listings, so the starting load for IMR4198 in .223 with a 40gr bullet (for an example) in the Nosler manual is 21.0gr, max is 23.0gr. With a powder that could be slightly faster, 21.0gr could be approaching a max load. In this case I'd personally start around 20gr and go from there.
With all that said, I'd bet money this Dxxxx powder is going to be so close to the IMR stuff that most of us will notice very little, if any difference in burn rate.
Anyone have a h4198 load that cycles a Ar15 reliably?
I just wanted to clarify something. Is Dominion arms Canadaammos brand and is this powder made in Canada?

I picked up 5lbs of the 4198. I have enough actual 800x for my needs for a long time. Hopefully a fast bullseye or titegroup type powder can be had soon...
