Wow What will that roll up 2 billion rounds
I'll have to look into this 4895 sounds handy.
looking forward to testing D4198 in a couple bolt action 223's. Would be interested in a D4895 for 308
would this powder be okay in a 308 and 30-06?
Just reloaded some D4198, runs fine through my Lee drum powder drop. The granules are very short and some residual ground up powder in tub
Will be testing 17gr of 4198 in middy 16" tomorrow with 55gr campro and dominion primer
Has anyone tried running the D4198 in a Tavor w/55 gr campro?
Because the D4198 is so fast, the gas pressure is much lower towards the end the barrel compared to slower powders. I had mixed results on my Mid-length AR's. 21.0-21.5gr of D4198 & Campro 55gr cycled fine in an 18" mid-length even with an H3 buffer. However, the same loads would NOT cycle in 14.5 mid-length with a carbine buffer. The longer 18" barrel increases the duration of pressure at the gas block and allows enough gas through to cycle the action.
You should be fine with the 18.5" barrel, I think the Tavor gas port position is similar to a carbine length AR so there should be plenty of gas to cycle the action.
