    Before trying to clone the radio, did you try to download from the radio?

    Can't get driver for the programing cable
    Pre-orders are horrible for everyone involved. They never go smooth. We will not be doing a pre-order to bankroll this project.

    I haven't been on the Chirp site for awhile but I thought there was some troubleshooting for the cheap chipsets.

    So how do you get the driver off the disc .
    Using win 7 , load the disc & no auto install Just view ?
    look for .inf file on the disk
    right click on .inf select install
    waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht
    the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm.

    You can also try changing the serial port

    "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

    Sounds like its almost easier to manually program these radios. It's not that hard once you learn the steps.

    You have a cable with a knock off prolific chip set. Give up now trying to get it to work.
