Sig Sauer 1911 Spartan
The Sig Sauer 1911 combines American ingenuity and design with European refinement. The 1911 Spartan provides tight tolerances to provide complete reliability in a smooth shooting pistol. It is a "Commander Model" (4.25") 1911 that comes with a unique, oil-rubbed bronze, nitron finish on the slide and frame and provides all the highly sought-after characteristics of the 1911 platform housed in an aesthetically pleasing frame.

Sig Sauer 1911's feature external extractors which were designed for more positive reliability and functionality. The Spartan comes with low profile, fixed night sights and aggressive checkering on the grip and mainspring housing. An extended and textured thumb safety and slide lock protrude from the slide and are easily accessed, aided from a slight relief cut under the trigger guard which also provides a higher bore access. The trigger is made from a skeletonized, nitron-coated aluminum alloy with a vertically serrated face that can be adjusted for overtravel and takeup. A magazine well is provided, held by a single hex screw, to aid in quick reloads.

Engraved in 24K gold on the left side of the slide, under the "Sig Sauer 1911" roll mark, is the Ancient Greek phrase, "Molon Labe", a Greek phrase meaning "Come and Take Them", the response of the Spartan King Leonidas when forcefully told by the Persians to put down their weapons during the Battle of Thermopylae. The phrase, along with a symbol of the Spartan helmet, are also prominent on both grips.
