    I'm feeling conflicted about these... At first glance, they appear cool. But after some scrutiny, they don't look that practical.

    seems like they make the butt stock drop to low.

    Not really, once it is in your hands it is better. For irons the stock height it perfect, and if you are looking at using optics, an SGA with a Cheek piece would suit it quite nice! Even the Fab defense with the cheek piece is a good match.
