Few friends mentioned the site so took a look around. Some great stuff but a lot of hostility. stuff that would get you ntfo in real life. So here is a question, is this just a tight little clic or fire arms lovers learning and building comradeship. Sure people ask stupid questions but being so hostile puts an ugly picture of this site. I sure hope this is not the norm. IMHO
There are plenty of helpful individuals who outweigh the negatives... just ignore the jerks and don't get caught up in trying to get the last word in.
Mostly great people on here, but (just like anywhere in real life) some jerks as well. Welcome to the site, and enjoy yourself ! (And EVERY member that I've met in person has turned out to be a really nice guy !)

Takes some getting use to for sure - lots of keyboard tough guys and even some site politics and hierarchy... but also lots of good guys and good information. It can be helpful, just don't get sucked into online scraps of a few ignorant &@$%#...
If you've been reading around, you'll know what questions to ask, what topics to avoid, when to stand your ground and when to back down.
Use your common sense, speak factually and you'll have a great time here!

Lots of great helpful people! Good advice. Mixed with quite a few "know-it-alls".......and splash of a**holes. But variety is the spice of life. Just as was said above.....ignore the bad apples and it is a great site!

A few guys here are wound a little too tight, but most are pretty good.
Most of the hostility comes from the amount of trolls that come around. Guys get too used to seeing things that make them think it's just an anti-gun troll looking to write a hit piece article, or stir up some crapola.
I think it's like when you walk up to a strange dog, it's gonna growl a bit while it sniffs you and figures you out. Once you've "checked out" the hostility should disappear.
I think too often though, "we" end up pouncing on innocent new members that are just received the wrong way.
Sure there's a couple 'punch-worthy' jerks like me floating around; but 95% of this site is made up of about the best calibre people this country has to offer.
IMO stick with it. Just ignore the couple a-holes, and take advantage of all this site has to offer.
