2017 SHOT Show: oddities, interesting, or other peculiar things from the Show.

Here are a few things which attracted my attention, for whatever reason, and don't quite deserve a thread of their own. (Plus, I don't really have lots of info about them)

    1. Bubba'ed or art piece? This modified Mosin Nagant:

Both the owner and the gunsmith who did the work are beekeepers. Hence the colors and patterns on this rifle. I do like the muzzle break...

    2. "That's not a knife... THAT's an knife!"

Remember the movie Crocodile Dundee? Couldn't help thinking about the scene during which Crocodile Dundee takes his bush knife out to scare away a mugger. This is more a hand-and-a-half sword than a knife, but... sure looks cool. And look how prowd and noble I look holding it.

    3. Speaking of knives, we stopped at the BÖKER booth. This dagger looked amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice. Böker makes really nice knives.

    4. Never been really into Airsoft, but...

    5. Pellet guns, anyone?

We especially liked this one made to look like a cut-down Mosin Nagant... Fremen's smile says it all:

    6. Finally, spent some time chatting with folks from a company called "First Tactical". They are apparently seriously trying to distribute to Canada; their goal is to offer quality tactical apparel (clothing, gear, knifes etc) but "not at 5.11 prices". If they indeed make it to this side of the border, it would be nice if the Canadian dollar didn't make the prices sky rocket. Interesting twist to that story, the founder of First Tactical is Dan Costa, who previously founded... 5.11.

That Böker dagger is a copy of the SS Ehrendolch (Honor Dagger). Which in turn is actually a copy of an older Swiss dagger design.

The quality of those air soft as well as the new pellet rifles are starting to amaze me , just started looking into the pellet pistols and I've come across many high end training pistols that replicate the original firearms as closely as possible. One in particular would be the new sig sauer P320 asp . Will be keeping an open eye and picking one up in the near future.

Yes. A "knife"... more like a hobbit sword...
