    Would the 458 ever be available up here?

    Ammo is not available in Canada yet but there are places that will roll you some. The anvil has been available for a few months or more, there are nutz here that have one!

    I found the .458SOCOM to be a fairly short range round: after about a 100 yards it dropped dramatically, so pick your target accordingly.

    I believe that the 458x1.5 Barnes was to be a subsonic round intended for use with a suppressor but still have enough retained energy at 100m to have a 'significant impact' on a soft target
