Several companies got together for an invitational "Burgers and Bullets" live fire event on the Thursday of SHOT week.
It first sounded as though it was a very exclusive media only event.
However, the various companies passed out a lot of brochures to anyone that showed an interest.
Consequently, there was a HUGE crowd at Range 702 waiting to try stuff.
The two most popular guns were the DT MDR and the Fostech 12 gauge shotgun.
I had hoped to get a lot more photos and video, but the large crowd and small shooting lanes made that difficult.
I did pass my camera to the person standing behind me, and she got some half-way decent video of me.
I was going to clip out all the shaky-vision and see if there was enough left to post here.
Then I found this online.
The grey haired guy in the black jacket is me!

As you can see, there seems to be a few hiccups.
The first excuse was that they grabbed the wrong ammo, some hot 175 grain ammo that caused the cases to swell and get stuck in the ejection chute.
Later, I read in the comments of this video that it had some 6.5mm ammo mixed in somehow.
DT ended up buying the entire stock of Range 702's Fiochi ammo, and it worked fine after that.
As far as shooting sensations, I was starting to get sick from flu/cold/Norwalk, so I wasnt really enjoying the evening the way I should have.
Also, firing a 308Win in a tiny steel booth is a REALLY BAD IDEA.
The range is divided into separate rooms with 4 or 5 lanes, about 20M long.
It is like firing inside an intermodal sea can.
It is mother-forking LOUD!
I have a new-found appreciation for outdoor 100M (and up) ranges.
I am writing an article for a magazine now.
Once it is published, I'll post the text here.
Until then, I dont want scoop myself...
