Dont suppose S&W would consider this would they? They did it for the 629 after all. Maybe a limited run.

In 500 s&w? That sounds like a terrible gun to shoot!
Ya not something you shoot all day but be fun now and then.

Registration leads to confiscation .
My 460V is a great revolver, could shoot it all day long with various calibers, the comp really helps taming the beast when shooting hot .460's. Granted it would be "fun" to shoot a cylinder full of hot .500 mag in a 4" barrel gun but I wouldn't shoot it all day!
By the way, the registered barrel length for my 460V is 106mm without the compensator so it's the shortest we can get and plenty 'o fun to boot!

We have a 6.5" barrel S&W500, and that's plenty short for a 50 cal.

Now your talking, I would be all over that and with a full under lug.
Already have a 454 with a 4.2 barrel and would really enjoy having something with a bit more jam.
