    Going from NR to R you have 30 days to report the change to the CFO and have your rifle registered, and you can not use it until you have your current regi certificate.

    Going from R to NR you have to take it to a verifier and apply for the status change.

    take it to the store, install the 18.5. get them to verify it there. submit the papers. act as though it is restricted until the letter comes in the mail. then burn the regi.
