These barrels are tack drivers. I have a prefit for my Deadline and love it. I just wish they made tubes for my Modern Sporter...

What’s the extra cost of a prefit verses a blank?

About the same as you would pay a smith to fit and chamber your blank. You don't necessarily save money with the prefit, but you do get to build the rifle yourself and skip the smith's turnaround time.

Thanks, I’ve done both, but couldn’t remember the cost of the smith.

$100... there is a big difference in cost between a blank/gunsmith vs prefit today

AFAIK, all the prefits I offer are now chambered on CNC gear which provides a very accurate chamber AND from a manf, speeds things up a ton.

There are a gunsmiths in Canada that I hear charge a premium for CNC chambered barrels... well, ironically, I can offer the same machining for a lot less money then "manual" chamberings.

PM or email to discuss your next project.

    Jerry

PS, I can now offer a complete prefit CM blued barrel that is less then most charge for a barrel blank.... Just saying....

Jerry, have you heard anything about C6 offering AR barrels? They'd be a great alternative to Proof.

Their goal was to get into AR barrels when they did their expansion last year. Great they did their expansion and the regular barrel orders have taken over that extra production volume.

Yes, they are still going to get to it... I just can't say when.

Bug them so they know there is a demand and I am happy to get them up here for you.

In 6.5 PRC.. heading out to customer. Tikka T3 prefit. Prefits can take a bit longer to manf.

note: with any prefit barrel, please confirm headspace and adjust as needed when the barrel is installed.
