I don't know a single person outside of work that welds, so something like that wouldn't really work for me and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I do weld, and I can tell you you don't want to weld to these anyways. You put a solid weld on the back of one of these plates you'll take the temper out of the steel. And that's where it'll crack and spall. That's why targets are also worth buying unless you have access to a water jet. Torch cutting wrecks the hardness. Even plasma will put too much heat into the edge of the target and make it brittle.

As already mentioned. 8 or 12 inch gongs.
AR500 is nice, but is AR550 not available, or would it raise the price significantly?

IPSC 2/3rd torso and 8" gong would be in there. Probably some gopher silhouettes.
I would definitely be interested in a complete duelling tree kit.

We won't be doing anything that big as shipping is difficult

not talking about welding the target. dueling tree plates are made with a cutout to fit into a pipe on the stand. to save shipping costs plates are often shipped not on a stand, with a piece of angle iron with piping welded on to it cut into 4-6 inch sections to hold the plates. only thing you weld is the stand, only need to do about 24 tack welds for a 6pc stand
