The 100% Canadian Sabertooth SKS aluminum stock from Matador Arms has not been available from Colonel Mustard for a while... this is because Matador Arms have been working on a revised/improved version (Mk II) which we have just made available to order on the website with physical inventory being collected on Thursday!

The bad news is that supply will be tight for the first few weeks - with the black versions coming first and the Flat Dark Earth and Woodland Camo following shortly behind.

We don't normally sell items that we don't physically have in stock but as we know production has begun, the time between ordering and shipping should be less than two to three weeks (and we can't really do it any other way as 'free stock' will probably be a while away).

Orders will be shipped strictly in the order that they are received - we will ship as soon as we physically can. If you are ordering other items at the same time as the stock/s please advise whether you would like them prior to the stock/s shipping or whether you would prefer all items shipped together (the default, if we don't hear otherwise). If you want to order just the stock/s and then order accessories when the stock/s is/are ready to ship we can accommodate that too (actually you can always do this to any order that hasn't shipped - enter Addon into the discount code box on your follow-up order and any additional shipping charges will be automatically cancelled and we will combine the orders). As an example where you might want to do this, we have buffer tubes and castle nuts at reasonable cost coming in soon...

seems a bit sad that all the time and effort that went into building this nice chassis..and is a bit pricey.but still uses STOCK mags instead of AK mags,?? WHY,

Will the mark II have enough material around the magwell to accommodate the pistol mag conversion? I understand modification would be required.

This in particular is a great improvement on the stock:
New: The removable dustcover block enables easy cleaning and service, and seamlessly blends with the chassis when installed.

Why?because it's not as simple as just changing the stock.

You have to machine the actual receiver of the SKS.

I can tell you just by looking at the pictures here that it will not be compatible, there wouldn't be enough material left.

We collected the first batch of the Sabertooth Mk II stocks from Matador last night (they're not far from us).

Everyone who has placed an order knows that they're either getting one of these or knows their number in the queue for each colour - as fast as Matador can supply, we'll get them out to you. None of the queues are excessive, so jump in if you want one as we're still predicting a 2-3 week turnaround.

With the kind permission of one of our customers and new Sabertooth Mk II owner, Yan from Quebec, we did an unboxing and posted some pics on Instagram (colonelmustardcanada) - like all Matador products the finish and craftsmanship are superb... we love that it's all made right here in Alberta (and they're great people!)

If you're somewhere between #1 and #8 on the waiting list, you're getting your (black) stocks shipped at the end of next week (but you know that because we've emailed you to let you know). :)

If you're further down the list than that, we'll email you to let you know what your new position is once we have confirmation of exactly how many stocks we are getting in this batch.

We also have Sabertooth Build Kits available to make life a little simpler - buffer tube, castle nut, receiver plate for single point sling, choice of stocks, choice of pistol grips and the option to add a Matador SKS Optics Rail or that and a Matador Extended Magazine Release...

Thank you to Matador Arms for our early morning delivery! It's a definite advantage being so close to Matador - we can get product as soon as it's ready. :)

We will be busy shipping out the majority of our Sabertooth back-orders today and we are expecting to be in an available stock (please excuse the pun) situation next week!

Does that mean we are going to have Sabertooths for sale at next week's Easter Gun Show in Calgary? At the moment, we believe so, but any orders placed online prior to the show will obviously take precedence. We will have an SKS in a Sabertooth Mk II stock for you to take a look at - we didn't think it was possible, but the finish appears to be even better than the Mk I!

If you're coming along, as in previous years, you can collect orders at the show - just enter EGN17 into the discount code box at checkout - you won't be charged for shipping and your order will be available for collection from the show.

As a bit of a teaser, there is another high-quality SKS accessory announcement due very soon...

The immediately available FDE we had has been sold - we are getting larger allocations from Matador and so we expect any stocks ordered from now on through our website to be shipped within two weeks or faster.

We are shipping all of our back-orders this week so any fresh orders received now will be at the front of the new queue / waiting list - for fulfillment from our next allocation from Matador Arms. If you're looking for a Woodland Digital Sabertooth Mk II - we actually have one in stock with immediate availability!

An update on inventory for the Sabertooth Mk II stocks: we have Woodland Digital camo available from stock right now and will have Black and FDE available from stock and available to ship as of next Thursday (22 June) - but they can be pre-ordered now.

We also have Baur 5/30 round polymer SKS magazines for $29.95 and Sabertooth Build Kits that include the buffer tube, castle nut, receiver plate, grip and stock - these start at $74.95.

It really comes down to personal preference. You can fit a dot sight directly to the the top rail on the Sabertooth as eye relief isn't an issue on those sights or you can add a Razor scout rail in place of your rear sight leaf to add a micro-dot (which will also work in the original stock) or you can add an Optics Rail to fit a scope. The first post on this thread shows a couple of examples.

Does that help? Happy to go into more detail on specifics if you want to PM us.

What would be a good optic to use because I cant use my iron sight?
