I would ask non-refundable preorders on those short barrels .50. It'll make a lot of noise and a big flash, but they won't exactly be precision rifles, and they'll still be quite heavy to carry. I think you'll be stuck with anything not accounted for when production is started.

Barrett makes the M82A1 in a 20" bbl... But hey, what do they know?
20" bbl would be cool.
"There are no points for second place." - Top Gun
"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri
"This whole war could have been avoided. Cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to this." - Tony Soprano
Oh damn, well this just made my mind up I think. I think RN has a 16" that still functions decent enough. I'd say 16" maximum
So it's actually worth having vs being able to do it yourself on one of the longer ones.
There is merit to several barrel lengths and plenty to back it up in some research. ^ the RN 50's here now are 29.5 , that little 16' sure looks like a blast.
18" seems kinda cool. I wouldn't trade mine for it but I would give it a whirl. Anything shorter kind of seems pointless.
