I used my Lab Radar unit which missed a lot of my shots for some odd reason but I did capture this - Fusion 325gr box says muzzle velocity 1450fps, measured 1835fps, Hornady Custom 500gr fp XTP box says 1425fps, measured 2099fps. Like I said, my Doppler was acting a bit out of sorts so I’ll do the test again on the 500gr Hornady rounds because that seems crazy good. I hope it’s right though because the rifle will shoot that round lights out.
I never got any where near the 2100 fps mark in my H&R rifle with the 500gr using my reloads and they were fairly close to max using H110 powder. The highest speed I got with the Hornady 500 gr XTP was 1550 fps.

Another batch is being made as we speak! I'd suggest everyone to sign up for notifications if you haven't already as the previous ones sold within hours of being added online.

CFE BLK. Is the ticket for heavier bullets in the 500 Smith & Wesson with a 16 inch tube you can easily do 2000 feet per second. Very impressed with the new powder from Hodgdon meters well. I think you could get more speed, in my Handi rifle but why bother. FYI I put a muzzle brake on mine. Still thinking about buying a big horn
