That must be that new 30-06 timmy improved cartridge that fits a short action.
I'm sure if you walked in with $100000 cash they might consider trying to build a one off just for you.
Always has to be one that can't read the thread from the beginning and comprehend the manufacturers post stating specifically that there will be no other options.

are these still around a 6 month wait time?
I'm in the same situation. Gave them a call today, they indicated it should be doable. The person I spoke to said to just leave the hand guard set as the default and then mark it in the comments section for your order that you want the Fortis barrel nut for the Switch hand guard installed. It is not compatible with the DPMS hand guard but can be purchased separately from Fortis. Of course, there may be a wait involved for the parts but that's my plan...

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's why there's so many requests for forward assists and for chrome-lined barrels. I mean, if you have those two features you can pretty much chamber whatever you want, right? Just keep hammering on that forward assist until it chambers, and if you've got a good chrome lined barrel it'll still shoot MOA. /sarc. (I know the /sarc is redundant, but I swear, some days reading this forum...)
Now this is just a thought so don't jump all over me but have you guys considered a 22 nosler modern varmint? Haven't seen much up here yet for the fancy new calibre. From what I read it was somewhere in between 223 and 22-250, but uses standard ar parts except the barrel.
