Even with side cutters I'm always worried about a scratch.....especially if the zip tie is tight and lying flush against the gun's surface.

I still think that a cheap plastic trigger lock is a far better idea. Especially on valuable or collectible guns. A forum sponsor has them at $9.99 for a 10 pack.

If you buy it and are worried, just slip a tiny screwdriver into the back of the zip tie clasp and trip the tang. Then just pull. Easy paesy.
