20 inch is a US factory offering and 18.5 is a canada market special delivery.

How is ATRS going to handle the UN marking fiasco?

There is almost no appreciable difference between 18.6" and 20" for velocity. For example, Colt Canada doesn't even make a 20" MRR. ...They also want to keep the carbine-length gas system, which is only reliable up to 18.6", but that's unrelated lol.

For that price I am definitely interested in a Modern Varminter. I need a non-restricted semi-auto rifle with a longer barrel and this is cheaper than a full-sized B&T APC223.

The gun is built in Canada. UN marking only applies to imported guns.

Are the factory models anticipated to favour only high quality ammo like the custom guns?

Very good to hear! 2750 is very reasonable considering even the cheap bolt guns are now in the 8-9 hundred range. That said I'll have to wait for tax return season next year to order one! Still good to see a Canadian manufacturer offering these! Does anyone know if king optics Canada has plans for a tactical scope so I can have an all canadian rifle? (Mostly)

    I am thinking about a C7 A1 build.
In theory with the right furniture and parts, yes. The FSB will most likely be the problem. We are still looking at what options the barrel supplier has to offer us.

They should run anything an inexpensive AR will run. Accuracy and reliability are deeply related to quality of ammo.
