Tinder fire is a great idea. I wonder if the rope holds moisture though. Zipper pulls are sure to get wet and the encased rope will be sure to keep moisture in.

I have some of this. It takes a spark easily. The red core is impregnated with some sort of petroleum type product. Pretty sweet when you need a fire.
