so, if we buy one of these, we can just put the slide on our existing 9mm 92f/fs, fill a .40SW mag and go shoot it? or would we need anything else to do so?

    quote from a Beretta armour

I believe that flow chart is referring to it not being possible to put a compact slide on a standard frame to create a "centurion like" pistol as the centurion is out of production... The "Compact" slides, and the "Centurion" slide are two entirely different things

If I'm not mistaken, the centurion was nothing more than a standard 92/96 with a wee bit of the barrel and slide cut back... haven't been to the factory armoures Course at Beretta in MD since 2009. But it came up in that course... For a period when Berreta ceased production of the centurion, it was recommended to services that might meet to replace Barrels, to just purchase a standard 92/96 Slide and barrel assembly and swap it for the centurions...

I believe Sport shooters here in Canada with 92FS pistols can switch slides for these and essentially have themselves a .40 cal pistol. The issue will be with your trigger group. As these are "D" centurions (DAO). You'll need to remove a component from your trigger group to prevent the hammer cocking and having no safety or no safe way to decock it... this work is entirely possible and actually easy to do. There is essentially no difference between the standard 92/96/D/Centurion frames other than markings, and that the "D" models lack a part that is simply not installed during assembly in the trigger group..

so, if I don't have a D or a Centurion, its a straight up swap?
