    Not an expert on American gun laws, but my understanding was they counted as an American made part.

    Some requirement for so many American parts, maybe related to the (now expired) assault weapon ban, don't remember details.

    They used to be common as dirt, can't find them any more.

    SKSman used to sell these and ship them from the US. Price was $9.99. Not sure if they still do business though.
    High Calibre got a hold of some and were selling them for $30-40 if I recall correctly.

    A nice way to dress up your robust Soviet battle rifle. Just pray the handgaurd removal and installation process goes somewhat stress free. (It never does though)

    If you ship to the US and cross the border to pick up does that fall under ITAR?
