Hello,
I have one of your stripped AR-10 billet lowers, and am looking to clarify some things about it that I read before I start piecing a build together.

From what I understand this lower follows the Armalite pattern,
So my question is what exactly is NOT compatable with this lower?

When I'm cruising through AR10 parts almost everything says "dpms pattern"

So what can I use to finish the lower, parts kits recommendations, and upper receiver bolt combo recommendations?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

biggest difference is the shape of the back of the receiver Armalite is diagonal and DPMS is round, As uppers go as long as the bolt and the barrel extension is the same you should be able use in either upper receivers.

I read only Noveske AR10 uppers or Armalite uppers, are the only 2 I can use..

And if that's the case it has me wondering about the bolt.

And if it helps i want to build this in .308 not 6.5 or anything fancy

Craig,
I have one of the cadex ar-10s. Wolverine is your best bet as they have most if not all armalite parts needed for your build. There are no standard ar-10 specs and parts are not interchangeable like ar-15s. You will also need an armalite upper along with barrel and bcg as the head spacing is different. The handguards are also unique as the threads are different on the upper. I had some issues with the lower interfering with the bolt stop preventing the bolt from sliding freely. Cadex sorted it out for me at no charge. Feel free to pm me if you want to chat about it. Great rifles once its done. Love mine.

Would you mind sharing your build and what exacly Cadex did to fix the bolt catch issue?
Cheers.

hoping CADEX will chime in

Hello Sir

I'm no specialist in AR10 platform as this lower receiver design was for a special development project which occur years ago when I wasn't at Cadex yet. To my understanding the CDX-10 lower was designed to fit the Armalite and Noveske style of uppers and parts. So this mean that all parts must be "B SERIES" parts which is for M14 (metal) style mags.

So all internal parts must be "B SERIES" which was a problem in the case of Rickster66 who had one part of "A SERIES" that required some machining to make it compliant. It was easier for us to rework his "A SERIES" part to make it compatible than to let him leave with his parts non-compatibility issue. We cannot do this all the time so if you are looking at buying this lower in stock at a Cadex dealer make sure that you order the right internal parts.

Cadex is out of stock and for the moment we do not plan on starting a new production run as the minimal quantity isn't reached to make it viable. This is not a big seller in Canada and since we are not authorized to resell these in USA then it kills most of the business opportunities.

I hope that this anwers your question. if not I suggest this link: https://armalite.com/files/2015/01/AR-10A-AR-10B-Rifles-Carbines.pdf

hmm thx for the information,

Ive been sitting on this lower (I already own it) for some time now and just pulled it out of the safe an dusted it off and was thinking of building it.

There must not be many of these kicking around..

CNC,
Sorry for the delay I was out on the job over the weekend. Finally got the photos.
Thanks for the reply Patrice.

BTW, Have I told how much I love this AR-10. It is a very well made receiver and mated with the Armalite upper it is a tack driver for me up to 500 yards.

As Patrice mentioned there was some slight machining done just under the bolt stop/release to provide some clearance. You can see the machined spot just under the catch to allow it to sit flush.

CADEX stood behind its product with super service and no hesitation.

I'm a customer for life.

PM me if you have any other questions on the build.
