Only temporarily. I understand there was a manufacturing blitz before the US election when manufacturers though Hilary was going to win and take everyone's ARs so now that it didn't happen there is surplus supply so the manufacturers are offering discounts to suppliers. I'd expect once the surplus is gone and they resume regular production, prices will increase again to the $900-1000 range.

This is the 5th time I've heard this theory. However there isn't any real evidence that this is what actually happened. Where is this info coming from?

I second this request. Source your theories!

Why don't you tell us what you'd consider real evidence and we'll see if we can meet your standard of proof?

Certainly prices south of the border seem to be lower at the moment as well and I've read the same thing on multiple firearms enthusiast websites. Demand (of AR's in particular) is down and sales volumes are being maintained only through discounts. Fits what I'm seeing and reading in multiple places, but other than sales data from the NSSF and/or a few of the manufacturers I'm not sure how you'd be sure.

Maybe you could provide an alternative theory to fit the observations and citations to match?

Im not really invested either wayy tbh on this Price thing lol , however, I have heard that same thing on several sources- the prices have dropped as per Trump got in..they had/have a surplus as per the US Election results.{No Panic buying} As for if they will go up when this 'Surplus' has dried... that is speculation, but the for "now price" is based on those facts {whether it stays at the prices or not}.
