MENTAL TRAINING IN SHOOTING

It is a practical book that explains and provides guidance in the development of mental skills. It is packed with good, straightforward advice on what it takes to get started, develop the use of mental training, learn solid fundamental techniques - and go all the way to the top.

This book is recommended for shooters, instructors, trainers, coaches at all levels: from beginners to elite competitors, and contains figures, summaries and a range of practical exercises. Both authors have worked with mental training for many years. Anne Grethe Jeppesen from Norway has broad experience as a competition shooter, trainer and coach and has completed the most advanced international training course run by the ISSF. Anne Marte Pensgaard has a Ph.D. in sports psychology and is executive in charge of this area at Olympiatopen (high level sport/Norway). She also holds the position of associate professor at the Norwegian School of Sports Science.

SPORT PSYCHOLOGY AND COMPETITION

In critical moments, it's our psyche that tips the balance.
Whether you achieve your goal or not is dependent on your thoughts and feelings, and on your behavior. This book is a guide on how you can systematically prepare for tournaments and other stressful moments. It contains 1,000 pictures, 200 exercises, a 6-week training plan and audio files on the techniques of psychological regulation.

I like the futuristic boots the guy has in the last picture

They are shooting boots. Very specific to Olympic style rifle and some pistol disciplines. Yours truly has a pair and we sell them as well. The idea is that as they are flat soled and provide little bit extra ankle support they will help with balance with standing and support for kneeling positions. They do look very unusual if you have not seen them before and are certainly a conversation starter. Usually people tend to think that they are cross country boots.

Bill Pullam & Frank T. Heinenkrat. Sports rifle shooting. A guide for shooters and trainers. This book is incredible. There is so much useful and sensible material that it blows your head. My friend found it on a torrent, to find out how

In addition, they have quite stiff sole and so the shoes does not bend when you walk. This is so that you don't "rock back and fore" in your standing position and loose your stability.
You can't really walk with those boot or shoes, so some shooter will only wear them just before going on the firing line.
