Question RPAL -- do I need to do anything after married?

    Hi Guys,

I am living in Ontario and got my RPAL at beginning of 2015 which will expire in 2019. I got married in late 2015. I never bought any firearm or ammunition after I got my RPAL.

May I ask do I need to update my marriage status to anywhere/anyone now, or just wait until the renewal? Since I didn't do that right after I got married, will I get any trouble?

    Thanks for your response!

If you moved - you had 30 day to notify, if not - at the renewal time ..

Thanks for the quick response SLToronto! No I never moved since I got my RPAL, so this means I can wait until the renewal in 2019 and don't need to tell anyone my marriage status change?

That's correct. Your spouse will have to sign your renewal form (or, failing that, the firearms officer will have to track her down, to do an interview).
