Well that’s great news cause the current design couldn’t be any worse if they tried.

They sent me a new mag just a few weeks ago. Works great now. The old could only hold one round. Two or three in it would make them nosedive. Bad spring.
Just call Savage, probably send you a new one.

Just a little update on mine. The new magazine savage sent works great. The taper of the cases makes them wanna nosedive but I suspect a stronger spring in the new magazine holds them level. I slugged the bore and measured .3105 but I’m no expert in doing this so I wouldn’t take that as gospel. Haven’t messed with the brake yet but I would love to remove it and put a cap in its place. Anyone tried this yet? I was shooting a lot of surplus through it and getting the odd light strike. A washer behind the firing pin spring cleared most of the issue up but I still get the odd one.

Overall I love it! It’s a fun little thing that’s cheap to shoot and very accurate even with surplus.

    Good day,
I’m wondering, does anyone know if it would be possible to spin the barrel off and install it onto a left handed short action?
The doner rifle would be a 22-250 axis.

    Thanks

Yes. The barrels are the same. The best resource for Savage rifles is Savageshooters.com. Be careful going down this rabbit hole. I know own 5 Savage rifles and always looking for more to build.
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.
