The X-22 Backpacker is extremely lightweight with an ergonomic hand guard, QD slings mounting capability and angled MOE SL non-slip rubber butt pad. Its drop-in design made it extra easy to install to all Ruger 10/22 Takedown models in a matter of minutes with a simple Allen key.
The quick release on the barrel assembly releases the barrel from the storage position. A quick twist and lock can secure the barrel into place and ready for action! The unique locking interface attaches the barrel assembly to the stock body in an instant, keeping both parts together during transport. The furniture also incorporates flush cup mounting points so that you can add a QD-equipped sling (the Magpul MS4, for example).
Practical storage compartments
While the ergonomics of the system are improved, the thing that makes the X22 Backpacker different from its counterparts is storage. A hinged, integrated storage compartment is located in the butt can store up to 3 spare 10 round magazines. Removing the included divider gives flexibility, allowing you to store larger items such as a box of ammunition. An additional water resistant compartment in the grip, great for storing matches, a small multi-tool or other ‘just in case’ items.
