Zf-39 is x4 and mounts on high turrets to clear the bolt.

Zf-4 (x4) was also used with a sweptback mount.

So if you want just go for a repro look, Zf-41 is fine.

If getting this 98K for accuracy, then picrail and commercial scope will do. IMO this option makes no sense, as losing repro look, I might as well just go for a modern bolt action, plenty of 1MOA offerings at 2.4K.
ZF 39 available as well for those that are interested

Damn, I'd be into a top quality reproduction K98 but it's a hard sell over $1500. Anything above that price range would have to carry some historic value with matching serial numbers etc. The repro ZF39 scope is also a very tempting upgrade for one of my k98s.

If you check schwaben arms Facebook page, they purchased a bunch of surplus 98k in November 2016. I guess, they will use good receivers from them. Add Lothar Walter barrels, add work, add new stock, blueing, assembly, etc. They sell them retail for 1690 euros in EU.

    It is what it is.

Is there any pictures of the finished product? Is there any chance of another batch?
