    If you keep the break and don't run real hot and heavy loads the weight should soak up a lot of the recoil. I'm basing this off my modern Hunter, I didn't notice the recoil as much until I ditched the brake and switched to a proof barrel, then I bought a Magpul enhanced buttpad immediately after the first Range trip (actually during as I was at a range with an attached gun shop) Just an educated guess, so don't get mad at me if it beats ya up lol. The enhanced buttpad was enough to take the bite off of it.
