They submitted the prototype to the rcmp in summer of 2013, though iirc.
They posted this thread invited feedback on the Type 81 and 3 other guns in the fall of 2011... they closed it in fall 2012 saying they were moving ahead with the Type 81.

The sample went to the RCMP sometime after that... with visions of a Q3 2014 release. 6 years from prospect to pending...

That's always the first thing I change when joining a forum.
I can't handle having to flip a page every 10 posts. It's tedious, especially on a smartphone where you have to wait to load.
