Air rifle issues

I purchased a Hatsan air rifle from one shot Tactical and as soon as i got the package i opened it up to try it out. Well it was very hard almost impossible to open. It only opened when i used it over my knee. This is my third email trying to reach you about this. Please get back to me.

Assume its a break barrel? Did you slap the muzzle down first, than cock it?
