    308 semi accuracy comparison.

This thread is dedicated solely to the test Jerry has offered to handle, he will be working up a handload for each rifle individually prior to testing and the test is purely for accuracy comparison between the BCL102, the Modern Hunter and an AR-10 with the barrels they come with from the manufacturer (aftermarket triggers allowed)

We are hoping to get a show of hands in this thread indicating how many people are willing to donate a rifle or money to help with costs. Jerry is a well known precision shooter and handloader and he has graciously volunteered to take the time to make this happen if we can get enough people involved to make it worth while.
We don't want this to turn into a D!ck measuring contest or a slag fest, Jerry is going to develop a load and shoot each rifle and document the results including all functional failures for each rifle and will report back to us. This will be an awesome comparison of the 308 semi auto's available to us and once the testing is done and the results are posted we can slag each other all we want but until then let's keep it civilized and get this done.

Optics are not required on rifles being sent in, Jerry has high quality proven glass to put on which will save money in shipping and level the playing field so we don't have excuses like "that rifle shot better than mine because it has a Nightforce and mine has a Bushnell".

I'll start off by committing to donate $20 to help offset ammo/shipping costs. If the number of people helping out is low I will pitch a little more as needed.
The more people involved the less it will cost everyone and the better the results will be.

Jerry will speak with each person donating a rifle individually to discuss shipping and how he will be treating your rifle while it's in his custody.

I think we will need around $1000 to cover shipping and testing. If Jerry wants to estimate total cost we can either collect till we hit that or just keep taking donations and then donate any leftovers to gun friendly charity.

Please don't commit to donate then not pay, I will leave negative trader feedback to anyone who backs out of a cash commitment without one heck of a good reason.

Big thanks to Jerry and everyone who pitches in

I was originally trying to do this with my MH this spring with Jerry, but could not justify the shipping expenses.

I would be happy to put my rifle up to it, but have no interest in paying shipping and insurance that will tally more than a couple hundred for both directions. Supplying one of the the rifles would be my contribution if it helps.

Thanks, I'm hoping the donations from the guys not donating a rifle will cover the costs of the guys giving up their rifles for two or three months.

I'm in the same boat as onetwentyfish, I can send my 102 with Gieselle trigger but spending a few hundred or more on shipping isn't all that appealing.

If the rifle isn't needed I could send what ever the standard is for cash gift, $20 or whatever...

I was going to offer my MH .308 with proof barrel, but cannot until after hunting season. I will donate $40 instead.

Would have been nice to get Jerry's load data for my rifle!

Hunting season is a very peculiar time to be asking for donated rifles; however, id throw in my stock RFB 18"

What the hell, I'm in for $20 with no horse in the race other than to see what the outcome is. Thanks to Jerry and the VERY generous CGNers willing to part with their babies to get us some data.
