Safe for use with steel shot.

    Pumps are 4+1.

    Marine finish is electroless nickel.

Received my backpacker 2 today and for all of those asking it has an extractor not an ejector.
They sent me the wrong gun but otherwise it's a nice shotgun for the price. I ordered 12 gauge and received a .410. It will be sorted out soon enough, I have no worry.

Much better than the original backpacker. The lockup is much tighter, the barrel is thicker steel, the bluing is way nicer and I actually have a really nice flame maple/tiger stripe wood on the buttstock as compared to the weird hotdog coloured stuff on the first Chinese one.

I have the hammerless version and the barrel break lever cocks the hammer. Thought that was neat. Trigger pull is very heavy and the trigger guard is plastic but for what I paid I don't care. Seems like good value for the money. If they are willing to work with me a bit I could possibly be convinced to keep it as long as I get my 12 gauge. The cost of .410 is ridiculous.

I just wish I could shoot the thing!!!!

Desperado: does it has auto safety or manual engagement safety?

Manual safety with the barrel selector . Action is stiff ( ejector )and the trigger is a little gritty, but I think it should soothe out the more it get used . Happy with mine .

Just ordered a Kodiak Marine and a case of 00 buck.
Looks like a fun little bush carry shottie . Hopefully the " marine coat " is durable .

Barrels chrome lined for steel shot? (Serious question!)
Same question...received mine on Friday, took it to the range on Sat, fired 3" rifled slugs. After two rounds from each barrel I noticed heavy fouling in the barrels, especially the top one. Cleaned them out, and found lots of what looks like tin foil. Not the slugs, because I've used them in my other shotguns. Some clarity would be nice as to what I've stripped away from the barrel and if slugs should be used or not. Anyone else have the same issue?

Wow, sucks to hear about the fouling and flaking.
    What brand slugs?
I wanted to order the Desperado but now I'm glad I waited!
