    What is a Firearm Identification Number and where do I find reference to it in the Firearms Act?

    Not at the moment as we're trying to gauge demand. Tell me what you're looking for and if 1911 Builders offers it we can help you out.

    A FIN is a unique number given to each registered firearm (after its been registered) by the RCMP. Here's a copy of a section of the RCMP memo;

    'In cases where the Registrar determines that the recevier blank does not bear a serial number sufficent to distinguish it from other firearms, a condition will be attached to the registration certificate indicating that the FIN must be permanently stamped or engraved on the firearm, as specified in section 7(1) of the Firearms Registration Certificates Regulations.'

    Looking for a 1911 slide (45acp) with front and rear serrations and novak cuts. Saw one with a US dealer but would prefer to deal local.

    Are you looking for Full-size, Commander or Officer? Something like this for 1911 builders;

    https://1911builders.com/collections...-standard-cuts

    If you like have a look around their site for what you're after. We've got the export permits in place so getting these to Canada isn't an issue.

    Ok, send me an email at scott@questar.ca regarding this and in the meantime I'm going to find out pricing from 1911 Builder.
