Purchased my first shotgun for trap shooting. I'm asking about the shotgun shells I purchased 12gague Winshester #8. Are those types of shells good for clay shooting?

Yes, #8 is for target.
Did you buy the right length for your chamber?

Yes, if they are 2-3/4 shells.

Clay target ranges usually require #7-1/2, 8 or 9 shot and 2-3/4" shells.
