I just got my order from NM that included the PRST tripod, the Sunwayfoto 44mm ballhead with QD plate and a Hog Saddle and pure awesome is the only words for the setup, while a pricey investment I couldn't be happier with it, on my initial inspection I swear a bomb could go off under this thing and not harm it, my only regret is that I did not order this stuff sooner, I cannot wait to get out and hammer some distant steel, maybe a gopher or two also lol.

As for the OD green, I too was not my first choice prefer black, but in hand looks good and I like it, just the top part and upper leg section are green, the rest is black and natural CF, original plan was for some Krylon, but I'm leaving it as is.

And yes Cathy was extremely helpful and even put up with me changing my order a bit, I will for sure be shopping with them again!

I'll give some more positive feedback for Brad at Nordic: I ordered a PIG0311 Tripod and a PRST ball head, when the ball head showed up it had a slight manufacturing defect. I called them, emailed a couple pics that showed my problem and they sent out a new one immediately. Great customer service!
Got it today, the whole set up inc tripod seems to be built really well and is a lot sturdier than I expected. Off to the bush to try it out this weekend!

A question on the PIG0311 for Brad or any owners; have there been issues with these breaking under pressure as a result of shooters mounting a heavy rifle with added weight suspended on the hook below? The reason I ask is that the load rating of 26lbs seems relatively light once you mount a heavy rifle and then hang a backpack on the hook. Just trying to get as much info as I can prior pulling the trigger on buying one of these.

    Thanks for any help/insight.

No issues so far with the Pig Tripods and we have sold a lot of them.

    From Joshua's website...

The PIG0311-G tripod is based off of the budget friendly yet capable SLIK DX700PRO tripod. We partnered up with Slik and started putting together several prototypes with beefed up specs, tighter tolerances and shooter specific features that are not readily available. Eight months of testing later we came up with this field tripod.

During testing we used several 50 cal rifles (Barrett M107 & McMillan Tac50) with great results regarding officer feedback and repeatable shot placement. Being unsure of what kind of garage cannon that might be placed on the PIG0311-G tripod, we decided to stick with a conservative 26 pound load rating.

Feel free to read the customer reviews on the Hog Saddle website...

If your in doubt, jump up to the PRST.

    Cheers

Alright, pulled the trigger and ordered in time to take advantage of the Fathers Day Sale!

I'm a little concerned though as during check out I hit the "submit purchase order" button as I wanted to pay with EMT vs CC. I immediately received and email saying Canada Post tracking number to follow, but I have not received any info with regards to payment (via EMT). I'm probably concerned over nothing, but I have not ordered from you before. Hope everything is good!

Thanks so much for a great product at a great price!

My rifle tips the scale at 12 lbs with an empty mag and my pack maxes the scale out at 15 lbs with quite a bit of weight still on the carry handle. The bag, loaded for range days, probably comes within a few lbs of the 26 lb load rating. On a smooth floor indoors, the pack + rifle + gamechanger bag will hardly cause the feet to spread an inch or 2. Once its settled it is rock solid. Running my sling back to my belt and loading it doesn't cause any flex whatsoever. You could say I'm extremely happy with the PIG 0311, when I think of the $230 I paid for it I feel as though I ripped NM off. They're that good. Next I'll be ordering a P.R.S.T BH1 ballhead and an Mlok arca swiss rail for my KRG.
WTB full semiautomatic assault rifles, double barrel extended magazine clips, 30 magazine clips (half second or better), shoulder things that go up and high power ammo that can go through walls.
