I would still do the non-corrosive test.

Despite all the comments on it being corrosive, I bought non-corrosive from a site vendor for about $0.215/round, all in recently. Based on threads fulls of CGN speculation about the vendor, and the non-corrosive claim, I did some nail tests. Definitely non-corrosive, as advertised on their website.

Ran quite a few rounds, on separate days, just to be sure. I'm satisfied.
Are you taking over, or are you taking orders?

I cast my own bullets so all I really pay for is primer and powder.

    $0.056(primer) + $0.15(powder)

I can buy corrosive for $0.21 a pop locally, and probably cheaper if I looked for it. So you're still break-even, the difference is having to clean your gun vs having to spend time reloading/casting. (And thats assuming your lead is free to start with)

What sorta load are you using? I can't say I've heard of many people going the cast route for these guys...

Sounds to me like the "non-corrosive" surplus from Lever Arms. They are NOT sponsors of CGN. I conducted bright nail tests on that stuff a few years back, and found that 3/20 primers tested WERE corrosive. YMMV, but not worth the risk to me. Treat it as corrosive and you're GTG.

Depends on a lot of factors. How much you shoot each trip, what your reloading setup is like, how rigorous you clean...

For my gun is a lot more step than a normal SKS to strip and clean I will probably stick to non-corrosive for now. So I just ordered 2 cases and see if this last (not likely) til 2018 when they said they will starting to re-stock .. or find something cheaper. Worst case I can go buy some corrosive and clean more often. Have that said, this ammo price is pretty much on-par with 223/556 already. Once in a while I can even find 1000 rds 223 for $430 ish. If the price goes up I will go back doing 223/556. Good thing is that there is always a choice.
