I figure I owe it to the animal to shoot the hardest hitting round that I can shoot accuratly. Every moose I ever shot I used my .338 WIN mag.....one clean shot ....drops em like a tree....hydrostatic shock from such a fast heavy round kills instantly...no suffering at all

maybe just me...I hate to see em suffer

No .308 is fine..I have even used a .243 to take one down as a kid..just make sure you put one behind the ear..
.308 is alittle overkill for a Ontario bear..
