BTW, the M10X Brake was a total PITA to remove! There are no wrench flats and I broke a tine off of the brake using a big-arsed screwdriver to try to lever it off by wedging the blade in the FH tines. I had to use a dremel with a cut-off wheel to cut through to the threads on 2 sides and snap the brake into two halves. I had to be very careful not to hit the barrel itself...
Hmmm wonder if it's just thread locked in or what. Glad I like the oem brake

    Nope, not me.

That hole is indeed for a QD sling swivel. There is a corresponding hole at the front of the Handguard on both sides, however it is slightly undersized for a QD swivel. Weird - I wonder if that was a machining error? If so, that would be the first thing that I have found to be out of spec on this rifle...

Found a QD Swivel that fits (snug) in my Handguard holes. 3 out of 4 that I tried didn't fit. Not terribly fussed about it, so long as I have a Swivel that fits.
