    R-pal interview order

I have my pal since 6 years, at the time of my application nobody got a phone call. Now I'm applying for a RPal, I'm just wondering how do the interviews work:

Do they always call me, or do they mostly just call my 2 references and girlfriend I live with? And if they call me, will they call me before or after everybody else?

I'm just trying to clarify what I've read of the 100's of other threads on that subject! Thanks!!

Unless there is a special concern it will most likely be like the others; 15 minute chat, problems with depression, loss of job recently, recent break ups, why do want restricted, gun club membership etc...

OR they don't call anyone and your card shows up in the mail.

In most circumstances, the phone interviews are just a formality. You likely have nothing to worry about

When I got mine earlier this year, they never contacted any of my references. I had one of my references call in and she said it was the oddest experience / talk that she had ever had. It really had nothing to do with what you would have expected for them to ask.

I would say that 85 percent of the time they will call your references and chances are, they will not call you. And like others above have mentioned, there are some pretty standard questions and a few odd ones, nothing to really be concerned about.

When I was getting my RPAL, I used my wife's grandmother as one of my references because she just adores me. What was I thinking!?! She doesn't speak a word of English so I called the firearms office and asked to change my reference and they said that it was too late and not to worry about it. A few days later, they called me back and just laughed at how an angry Hungarian woman screamed at them over the phone and that my RPal was on its way. They don't usually call but I think the woman at the centre just wanted to rub salt in my stupidity. At least the other reference was a club member.lol

You must be inclined toward small talk; I don't think I've ever had a firearms' reference interview that lasted longer than five minutes.

No I'm not, when I applied for my RPAL I wasn't employed full time and had left a job.
Answering their questions truthfully can lead to more questions.
