Your statement has been my experience, I wish Remington would continue with the Police engraving, especially for resale. For those in the know if a marine magnum has rifle sights, it's a "Police"

The one I just bought was built this year and has "Remington 870 police Magnum" on the receiver. Also, the one I sold earlier this year had it too and that one was built if I remember 2012.
Strange that they would leave Police off some of them.
Maybe just the Marine versions https://forum.officer.com/forum/equi...-marine-magnum
Found this no police marking either: http://www.rem870.com/2017/03/09/rem...marine-magnum/

Any chance of getting the Police version, SKU 25047?
Cathy
Yes, any Remington dealer can order that in for you.Any chance of getting the Police version, SKU 25047?
I ordered one last December. I was told it would take 60 days.

We don't have any outstanding back orders to fill on that shotgun.
Shoot us a PM and we'll get it sorted out.
Will do! Thanks for the quick response!

Like anything, attach the label "MARINE" to it and it cost way more than the regular stuff. But it attracts people.
It is no more rust proof than a regular 870 in terms of the internals. Just buy an 870 and take care of it.

Used to be built like police model 870s. Which is to say fairly well, for present day Remington. Hope that's still the case.
