    I would like to use these for hunting. Do the radios have the capability to use standard batteries. ie; double a.

    Funny. Some people have nothing better to do than complain to "Ma guvmint". I have an amateur radio license. I had a radio before I had the license though. I just didn't transmit. No big deal if you don't use the amateur bands.
    Industry Canada probably wouldn't have given a rat's a$$ either. They had to do something because of the complaint.

    That said, studying and taking the test is relatively easy. Especially if you already have an electronics background.

    Rechargable lithium ion battery. Best one you can find for the price. Charge lasts a long time.

    Yes a module is available for use with AA batteries.
    He can't shoot like that with a stock Savage and a Bushnell scope

    ^^^ Thats good to know as I prefer being able to using them when out in the field .
