Not sure what that ugly screw is...
Good to hear... still curious though.

I suspect it would be to secure the internal pin that the upper trunion slides onto. This would save having to use a press to fit that internal pin.

Ahhh I think I follow, it slides together with a cross pin securing the rear of the upper and lower together something like this.

I was hoping it would be similar to the MV. It would be interesting to see the other side of the receiver.

I saw the rifle today and it’s a very nice piece of kit, very well thought out. Nice machining, so I put myself on the waiting list

It is very similar in the function it serves, but that would be much less expensive than the parts on the varmint and it also frees up the space to put a standard buffer retainer.... I like it and I'm in the waiting list for sure

Great as long as it's durable I'm happy.

Correct, except the MV's pin is parallel to the BCG, or 90° from how yo picture it. Those bolts would just be tosecure the pin, not actually be the pin themselves as your drawing suggests.

no, this is exactly what they've done with the sporter vs. the varmint. The varmint ran a "trunion" inline with the bore of the gun, it had a spring behind it and a big set screw putting pressure on that spring. This is simply anchoring a rounded post where a rear takedown pin 'would' be and having a 'hook' on the upper instead of a hole. That picture is bang on
