    Don't know what you mean by tie the charging handle back. But the charging handle does have to be in the lock back position when folded. I've had one of these mounts on mine for over a year now and its been great.

    There was a model that swiveled that came with a string you fastened to the stock & used to stop the charging handle from riding on or slaping into the red dot.
