That Colt looks pristine. Good on NS for bringing these in.

I noticed that the roll mark on the colt is improperly stamped on the colt “L” and the serial number starting with “CR” does not match the “LE” that it is supposed to start with from other “colt combat unit” carbines I have seen.

Are these colt combat unit carbine uppers that have been slapped on different blemished colt lowers as they appear to be?
Is that why you are calling them “enhanced patrol rifles” instead?

    Seems a bit iffy

Yeah that colt stamp in the OP looks bad. Not a good sign for a $1700 gun...

Interesting, just checked and mine has the same flaw in the “L”, wonder if that’s how some dealers offer discounted rifles....

I just checked mine as well and the "L" has the flaw as well. Very interesting.

A quick google search shows that the “CR” prefix of the serial number should belong to the “colt accurized rifle” model numbers CR6724 and CR6720
