Jerry, have you had a chance to put any of these models through their paces?
If so, what do you think? ie; glass quality, tracking, reticle....etc and how Athlon compares to other scopes within a similar price point?

Damn, almost double the US prices! Seems they may be much better value down South.

I have had a chance to play with a Cronus and Ares before taking on the dealership. I was impressed on the exterior fit and finish... very typical of any upper end manf. The features also were very current and it looks like Athlon is listening to shooters and keeping up with trends.

The Glass on the Ares was very good but just a hint behind the sector leading Sightron SIII's. Still as good or better then anything else in its price range and some costing more. If you include all the features, a great value. Tracking was solid and matched the reticle.

The Cronus has better glass and rated very well with my Sightron SV. Able to resolve wild sage grass at over 800yds... the grass stocks are like 1 to 2mm wide. Right there with some of the best optics. Tracking was spot on and my box test was actually very short... it was pointless to keep going as any return to previous setting put the bullet through the same hole. Again, the adjustment and reticle matched.

For the money spent, you are getting way more scope with the Athlons vs other FFP scopes.

    Jerry

Exciting line up of scopes Jerry, l have another Rem 783 on route to me, this one in a long action 270 that may eventually be a 280 AI but that is a few years away. Looks like I have to start saving again for another scope. Maybe in the 8 - 32 range. BTW If you haven’t done a review on the long action 783 you are welcome to borrow mine!

For all of you CGN’ers out there, I have met and dealt with Jerry for a couple of years now. I bought a Sightron STAC 4-20x50 scope, a complete reloading package and reloading supplies from Jerry and he is an absolute fountain of knowledge, he’s passionate about this sport, he’s a pleasure to deal with and he has a pretty good sense of humour too! I highly recommend Mystic Precision!

Just out of curiosity, what's the history of Athlon Optics?

    When did the company start?

Head office based in Kansas and I believe most scopes made in China.

As mentioned above, many favorable reviews, seem to offer some solid value.

They seem to have internet presence from about Dec 2015 that I see.

    OMG. 20 oz for a 1-4. Almost 30oz for the 2.5-15!

What are these made of? Left over bridge girders?
