    Scope ring torque spec

    Just looking for the torque specs for a set of MDT 30mm rings.

    As a rule of thumb, 60-65 in-lbs for mounting rings to the mount, 17-20 in-lbs rings. Range due to different size screws...

    I'd check with the scope manufacturer. You are tightening against the scope tube body so they are more likely the better source for torque specs, rather than the ring manufacturer.

    Newfie torque. Tighten untill it strips then back it off 1/8 turn

    18-20 on rings and 25 on the base.

    Yes, I would either call or email them, just in case.



    I have a bunch of different rings and bases, they all are in the range I said, but you never know.
